Dash, keeper of the tea.

It's official. 

I need more people to sculpt things for. 

My collection of Dash pieces is growing every season.

Alicen's birthday was this weekend. She'd been to my house recently and had some loose tea leaves, and commented that she needed a tea infuser (/strainer?) for here because she didn't have one. 

(*mental note for birthday present ideas!)

Somewhere along the lines I decided she needed a Dash tea infuser. 

I'm not sure where this idea came from, but I had no other brilliant thoughts for her birthday, so it came to be. Well, she loved it, more than I could have hoped she would. 

It made my day to see how much she enjoyed it. :-)

And I know it will be frequently used.

I think I'm going to take this concept and make some dogs that are holding on onto your ear :-P

need to pick what dog I want to make doing that...

I love sculpting danes. They have such personality that shines right through their giant ears.

I just love it.

My India Rose

I am not sure why she's been on my mind as much these last few months, but she has. 

I still miss her chubby cheeks and talkative growling. I miss her lying at the foot of the bed, or riding shotgun on my errands. I miss her tiny feet and crinkled ears.

I miss MY mutt dog.

When I discovered the art of felting as a way to make dog look-a-likes, India instantly came to mind.

The few others I've made have been in preparation for India.

I wanted her to be perfect.

I wanted to know just what shape and color and position I could (and would) create.

Sweet fiance got me her color combinations for my birthday in October, and I've been anxiously anticipating when I would have time to just sit and work on her, without being in a time crunch since then.

I must say I am pleased with how she turned out.
